Blackhead Mountain – 03/03/12
Today we knocked off another winter 3500 peak. It was an absolute gorgeous day. There was a few inches of snowfall the night before, but luckily for us, a couple of hikers with snow shoes had blazed the trail ahead of us. Very calm and sunny as we made it up the west side toward the saddle. Wind picked up at the saddle where we stopped for lunch. From the saddle we made it to the summit in 45 minutes, where we met a group of hikers that ascended from the east side after spending the night in the lean-to.
